The keys to unlocking barriers to learning

Forms

Make sure that the entire form can be navigated and completed using only the keyboard to make sure that people who do not use a mouse (which includes people who use screen readers and people with limited mobility) can use the form.

Also make sure that all form elements include a label element like this:

<label for="firstname">First Name:</label>
<input name="fname" id="firstname" type="text" />

If you do not include a label, it is virtually impossible for a user of screen reader technology to complete the form.

Note: If you are using the "webform" content type in the KU CMS, labels are added automatically.
